USU SWAG PROMOTIONS

Each year, I design a new t-shirt design that is used as giveaway items for students and for the campus community. My approach when developing these shirts is to always create a shirt design that is relevant to current trends, and to not create a shirt that simply just feels like a giveaway or novelty item. The way I accomplish this is by observing what students are wearing, and getting student input on what fashion trends are in right now.

For 2022, I knew minimalism was the trend, however, with a more minimalist approach for the design, I were intentional with providing the best quality. These shirts were embroidered and printed on a washed, vintage, heavyweight blank.

The goal for always tuning in with what students want as far as our t-shirt giveaways is to emphasis the need to create items catered specifically to students. In doing so, we not only reinforce the strength of our branding as being a student facing department, but also it develops loyalty amongst our audience by providing the student population with items that are of high quality and highly desired.

In addition to the swag that is created, I create a campaign that promotes the swag items for that season in hopes that it increases hype and engagement on social media for the student population, and their invested interest in obtaining the swag items.

When it comes to producing these videos, the social team follows a very specific vision. The goal is to show- case that these shirts are not just any ordinary school shirt but one that can be worn with pride and with any outfit for any occasion. The videos created are intended to feel much like an advertisement and show the shirts in a cinematic light. Videos are stylized in this way to make students feel prideful when representing campus, and to stay in trend with current visual styles that represent the student population.
